Kings Canyon National Park is located in the southern Sierra Nevada Mountains in Fresno & Tulare counties. This 461,901 acre National Park was established in 1940. It's well known for the General Grant Sequoia tree in Grant Grove and the powerful Kings river which runs through Kings Canyon, which was formed by glaciers during the last ice age, just like the nearby Yosemite Valley. It is also adjacent to Sequoia National Park which is located in the southern Sierra Nevada Mountains in Tulare county. Sequoia National Park is most known for the General Sherman Tree, the largest tree by volume in the world and Mount Whitney, the highest point in the contiguous 48 United States. Established in 1890, the park encompasses 404,064 acres.
I was inspired by Ansel Adam's and the power his photographs had to protect and conserve our environment. Now I hope I can inspire people with my images of the rivers, trees, mountains, cliffs, and waterfalls of the incredible Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks, to go outside, explore and enjoy nature. These parks are truly incredible to visit and document. I loved my time spent in both National Parks and cannot wait to go back!
